A Beaumont resident escaped unharmed Friday morning after a tree fell on the roof, causing a fire. The tree fell just after 7:30 a.m. onto LaToya Douresseau’s home in the 3200 block of N. Willowood.

Strong Winds Leave Many Without Power

A powerful storm with high winds blew through Beaumont Christmas morning, bringing down tree limbs and knocking out power to a large area. At the intersection of Willow and Harrison, this Goodwill billboard could be seen flapping loosely in the winds that continued into the afternoon and evening.

Getting Muddy at the Buckner Toy Run

Motorcycles, Jeeps and Corvettes gathered in Beaumont on Saturday for a good cause. Participants in the 22nd Annual Buckner Toy Run raised money and allowed kids to pick the toy of their choice. After the kids opened their presents, they were given motorcycle and Corvette rides — in addition to mudding expeditions in the Jeeps.
