Lamar University and the Beaumont Foundation of America announced the 15th winner in a series of Southeast Texas Legends Scholarships Friday afternoon. This one honored Walter Umphrey, center, founding partner of Provost Umphrey Law Firm. The endowed scholarship will assist underserved Lamar University students. The presentation took place Friday in the University Reception Center, 8th Floor of the Mary and John Gray Library on the Lamar University campus.
