Child Protective Service Supporters March Against Child Abuse

  • There is no excuse for child abuse!’ echoed the streets of downtown Beaumont Monday as dozens of Child Protective Service supporters marched to the Event Centre. The walk, which drove curious employees to peek out from their offices, was orchestrated to kick off Child Abuse Awareness Month and was greeted at the centre by city and county law enforcement officials.

First Mud Farm 5K Run/Walk

  • More than 130 people participated in The Mud Farm’s first 5K Mud Run/Walk on Saturday. Participants embarked on a trek of more than three miles on the Sour Lake course. They crawled through mud, walked planks over water and were pelted with water balloons before crossing the finish line. Proceeds from the event will go to the American Cancer Society in honor of The Mud Farm’s owner, who has been battling cancer for several years.
