Twelve contract workers were hopsitalized Wedneday afer a fire broke out in a processing unit at Beaumont’s ExxonMobil. Three of the injured were reported in critical condition after the incident.

Silent Runs Pay Tribute to Boston Marathon Victims

Daniel Villarreal, who ran the Boston Marathon on Monday and finished before the bombs went off, writes a message on the sidewalk Tuesday at Gulf Terrace Hike & Bike Trail in Beaumont. Two running groups, the Sea Rim Striders and the Golden Triangle Strutters, held silent runs at the trail to pay tribute to those hurt and killed in the explosions Monday in Boston.

Gulf Coast Insurance Sign Catches Fire

A fire broke out in the top part of this sign, located at 2860 IH-10 Service Road past the Red Lobster restaurant, around 5 p.m. Monday. The Beaumont Fire Department responded with two trucks, including a ladder truck. By the time the ladder truck arrived, no flames or smoke could be seen, but they checked to make sure nothing was smoldering.
